HomeMy WebLinkAbout110904summaryBOZEMAN AREA BICYCLE ADVISORY BOARD MEETING SUMMARY NOVEMBER 9, 2004 Attendance David Baumbauer, Cort Felts, Susan Gallagher, Emily Harrington, Jon Henderson, Carol Shannon. Not present: Tiffany Lach, Jim Nallick, Matt Rognlie Old Business October 5 meeting summary review and approval. • The board agreed to present and approve more detailed meeting summaries for future meetings. • Jon Henderson presented an update on Bike Route sign installation. As of the meeting. only two ‘locates’ are left with seven more poles to install. November 19 is the last day for the temporary employees who have been installing signs. Thirty to forty signs were left to placed on existing poles. Ultimately, 8 to 10 signs will be left to possibly replace some existing signs. The bicycle racks ordered arrived without powder-coating—the city looking fro some sort of financial credit for the error. New Business Map update: CTEP will not replenish funds spent on publishing route maps. Emily presented preliminary map layout work including folding & press sheet options. Emily is willing to donate some time toward the project, but will be unable to donate all. Discussion followed concerning reimbursement for Emily as well as possible other means of designing, publishing and paying for maps. Discussion turned to potential bid requirements. It was also pointed out that $35,000 remains in the BABAB budget & may used to cover map costs, as well school education/curriculum costs. Subdivision review: After discussion the board is recommending bike lanes for planned work on Durston & Cottonwood roads in the Valley Center area. After discussion, board members agreed to act as leads/contacts/liaisons for the following areas: Media—Matt & Tiffany Schools—Cort Gallatin Valley Bike Club—David Natl/state bike org. rep.—Susan Standards—David & Jim Subdivision review—Jon The board agreed December’s meeting will take place Monday, the 13th, same time, same place.
