Old Business
-Map update. The board has not received a lot of feedback, but initial indications are it
is very popular. The Bozeman Swim Center was noted for having a number of map
requests.
-CTEP. David mentioned the ‘Huffine path’ has made it another step in the approval
process and the board is optimistic that the project will be funded. Final decisions
should be made in August.
-Bike education. Jeff has spoken with the schools regarding the idea of including
bicycle education in the curricula. The curricula review schedule indicates health
education review will take place in about two years. The subject will be brought up
again then.
-Bike Board member Jim Nallick has resigned. The Board now has two vacancies.
New Business
-Youth & bikes. Eric Szemes was a guest at the meeting, and discussed the
opportunities for a volunteer(s) to coordinate a bike recycling program. The program
would involve youth and teach them to repair and refurbish bicycles. There is some
grant money and equipment available if a volunteer could be found. The HRDC is the
sponsoring program. Bike board members interested in helping should contact the
chair.
