(2) The re-established Bike to Work and School Week went well with articles in the paper, breakfast at the Co-op (with approximately 100 stopping by for treats) and a free bike clinic at Summit Bike & Ski, with about 12 in attendance. (3) David B. attended the North 7th Ave presentation by the consultant team. The meeting was poorly run and disorganized. Significant discussion about bikes resulted in no conclusions. One general feeling of the consultants was to have bike and ped routes moved one block east and/or west. Another public presentation will happen in a couple months. (4) Jon reported on the North Rouse Ave. meeting. Two alternatives are looking promising: Three lanes with a path on the east side, with bike lanes, or the same without bike lanes and wider vehicle lanes. MDOT had a feedback form that Jon will fill out. BABAB feels that the reconstruction should be consistent with other busy streets and have bike facilities on the street. (5) The status of South 19th Ave. was brought up but no board members had new information. Jon will follow up. (6) Dave K. and Jon gave an update on Safe Trails Coalition. The community input sessions went well, even in Belgrade. There was a lot of discussion at the meetings, and Jon reported that the railroad-associated path was still a possibility. (7) David B. proposed a new subcommittee structure for BABAB. The board discussed structure and duties at length, resulting in the following accepted format. Engineering & Planning Subcommittee Duties will include subdivision review, facility development, transportation plan, standards and codes. Members: Jon and Dave K. Education Subcommittee Duties will include curriculum development, events (i.e., bike rodeo, kids fest), traffic laws, enforcement, and information distribution. Member: Jeff Advocacy Subcommittee Duties include: Bike to Work Week, liaison to city Commission, Op-Ed writing, interfacing with other groups, Web and County Commission contacts. Members: Matt R., David B. and Emily. Matt R. will contact the three members to see what committee they will serve on. (8) It was brought up that the master copy of the Bozeman Bicycle Route Map should be changed to remove one path in Story Hill that is now closed. (9) David B. suggested that because the next scheduled meeting would be July 4th, that the meeting be cancelled and that the subcommittees meet in July instead. Next Meeting: Action groups will meet in July instead of the full board. Groups will report back to the full board at the August meeting. August 1, 2006, 6:00 pm, Alfred Stiff Professional Building.
