2007 Arbor Day Grant Program
The Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation (DNRC) is sponsoring the 2007 Arbor
Day Grant program to promote the observance of ARBOR DAY in Montana. All communities in Montana
interested in participating in Arbor Day 2007 are eligible to apply. Any community interested may apply
for a $150 grant while communities with the Tree City USA designation since at least 2005 may apply for
a $400 grant.
This is a reimbursement grant with a required 35% match. A community requesting reimbursement must
submit copies of paid invoices in the amount of the grant plus an additiona135% (i.e., $52.50 addition for
the $150 award OR $140 addition for the $400 award) to receive payment. Match may be cash or in-kind
donations by the grantee.
Montana joins most other states in annually celebrating Arbor Day on the last Friday in April, however,
trees and planting conditions don't honor calendars and many Montana communities choose to celebrate
Arbor Day at different times.
