Rivers Landscaping is a Belgrade, Montana-based, locally owned contractor providing landscape maintenance and landscape construction services throughout the Gallatin Valley, including Bozeman. We would welcome the opportunity to support the Parks and Recreation Department’s parks, recreation, aquatics, cemetery, and forestry divisions as a term contractor under this solicitation. Rivers Landscaping operates two dedicated in-house divisions – landscape maintenance and landscape construction – giving the City a single, locally based point of contact for both routine grounds care and larger repair, renovation, or installation projects. Our attached Statement of Qualifications details our experience, firm background, current capacity, and references. FIRM EXPERIENCE 1.1 Experience with Projects of Similar Size, Type, and Complexity Rivers Landscaping performs recurring landscape maintenance and landscape construction work for multi-family residential communities, private estates, and mixed-use properties throughout the Gallatin Valley – property types that are comparable in scale, seasonal demands, and public-facing appearance standards to the parks, recreation, and cemetery grounds maintained by the City. The table below identifies representative current projects, including the client, contact person, and phone number for each, consistent with the information requested in Section V.B.2.a of this RFQ. Active client. 1.2 Qualifications of Personnel to Be Assigned Maintenance Division Lead – David Castro: Maintenance Manager, Rivers Landscaping. B.S., Plant & Soil Science, Texas Tech University. Has led Rivers Landscaping’s maintenance division for three years, overseeing crew scheduling, plant health, irrigation, and client account management. Would serve as the City’s primary point of contact for maintenance-related task orders. Construction Division Lead – Riley Rivers: Owner and Principal, Rivers Landscaping. Founded the company in 2018 while a student at Montana State University and has since grown the firm into a two-division contractor serving the Bozeman area. Would lead construction, renovation, and installation task orders and holds signing authority for the firm. Both divisions are staffed by trained, dedicated field crews (see Section 3, Firm Workload) who would be assigned to City projects based on scope and season, under the direct supervision of the division lead identified above. 1.3 Recent and Current Work for the City of Bozeman Rivers Landscaping does not have prior contract history with the City of Bozeman. We view this RFQ as our first opportunity to formally support the Parks and Recreation Department, and we are prepared to demonstrate our qualifications through an interview and, if selected, through performance under a term contract. 2. FIRM BACKGROUND Location: 26 Rae Lane Unit A, Belgrade, MT 59714 – approximately 15 minutes from downtown Bozeman, within the Gallatin Valley service area. History: Rivers Landscaping was founded in 2018 by Riley Rivers, then a Montana State University student. The company has grown from a single-crew maintenance operation into a full-service landscaping contractor with distinct maintenance and construction divisions serving residential communities, HOAs, and private clients across the Bozeman-Belgrade-Anaconda area. Annual Volume of Business: Approximately $3.8 million annually, comprised of roughly $3.0 million in landscape construction/installation work and $800,000 in recurring landscape maintenance services. Financial / Bonding Capacity: Rivers Landscaping self-performs its current workload without a standing bond and can obtain project-specific bonding if required. Given that individual task orders under this term contract are capped at $79,999 (RFQ Section III), we do not anticipate bonding will be a barrier to performance, but Rivers Landscaping is prepared to secure bonding for any task order where the City requires it. Strengths and Special Capabilities: Locally owned and based in the Gallatin Valley, with two in-house divisions (maintenance and construction) that allow the City to call on a single qualified contractor for both recurring grounds care and repair/renovation/installation work. Leadership includes a degreed horticulture professional (Plant & Soil Science) directly overseeing maintenance quality and plant health. Office Location(s): Single office and yard location at 26 Rae Lane Unit A, Belgrade, MT – within Gallatin County and a short drive to all City of Bozeman Parks and Recreation properties. 3. FIRM WORKLOAD AND CAPABILITY TO MEET TIME AND BUDGET REQUIREMENTS Current Staffing: 33 team members company-wide, organized into three-person field crews across two divisions – four maintenance crews and four construction crews – supported by ownership, management, and administrative staff. Present and Projected Workload: Rivers Landscaping’s current workload is fully allocated between its maintenance division (approximately $800,000/year, primarily recurring seasonal contracts) and its construction division (approximately $3.0 million/year in installation and renovation projects). Because task orders under this RFQ are issued on an as-needed basis with a $79,999 maximum value, Rivers Landscaping expects to absorb City projects within its existing eight-crew structure by scheduling task orders alongside our regular seasonal workflow, prioritizing City deadlines as they are issued. Capability to Meet Time and Budget Requirements: Having separate, dedicated maintenance and construction crews allows Rivers Landscaping to respond to a City task order with the appropriately skilled crew without pulling resources from unrelated work. Rivers Landscaping bids and manages both time-and-materials and fixed- price work today and is accustomed to accounting for and reporting costs against a defined scope and budget. 4. CLAIMS At no time in the last ten (10) years has Rivers Landscaping been assessed or paid liquidated damages after completion of a project under a contract with a public owner. 5. GENERATIVE ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE DISCLOSURE Pursuant to Section II of this RFQ, Rivers Landscaping discloses that it intends to make limited use of generative AI tools if awarded a contract – specifically to assist with the layout, formatting, and drafting of task-order proposals, estimates, and related administrative documents submitted to the City. Rivers Landscaping will not use generative AI to perform hands-on landscaping, maintenance, or construction work. Consistent with Section 20 of the City’s Professional Services Agreement (Appendix B), Rivers Landscaping will inform the City’s representative before using generative AI on any deliverable, will review all AI-assisted content for accuracy, bias, and copyright infringement prior to submission, and will not input any confidential or personally identifiable information obtained through a City agreement into a generative AI system. 7.
