RFQ for Parks and Rec August 15, 2026
Introduction:
My name is Allison J. Levy and I operate a small gardening business at 308 S. Black
Ave. in Bozeman.
I am an Independent Contractor with exemption status in the state of Montana. I
also have a nursery license.
Firm Information and background:
•Experience. I have owned my gardening business (Old as Dirt Gardening)
for 10 + years. I have been working as a gardener for over 15 years.
•Most of my jobs have been small, since I am the sole employee. I have,
however, worked on projects in the past planting more than 5,000 perennials
at a single job site. So I have worked on mostly small-scale jobs, but a few big
ones.
•I work with commercial and residential clients in Bozeman. I manage
workload budgets and invoicing. I have never done work for the city.
•I have a certificate of completion for Therapeutic Horticulture through
University of North Carolina Botanic Garden received in 2024.
•Currently working with Highgate Senior Living, facilitating twice monthly
garden therapy activities for residential garden club. Such activities have
included making bouquets, making lavender sachets and drying flowers.
•Ran therapeutic horticulture sessions with the Eating Disorder Center of
Montana patients 2023, 2024. With patients, we weeded, transplanted and
made bouquets and lavender sachets.
•I have held gardening positions in Wyoming, Montana and Vermont.
•Volunteer with Sage Gardeners, Bozeman, MT.
•Traveled to UK last September for a 5-day therapeutic garden tour with
Therapeutic Garden Tours.
•Member of Root in Nature Therapeutic Horticulture and American Public
Gardens Association.
Firm workload:
•I have a handful of regular clients that I service weekly or bi-monthly. I
create my own schedule. I also have a part time job two days a week, 6 - 8
hours per week.
•I am currently working on redesigning a garden space for Shen Spa located
behind Feed Café. This project will be completed by end of summer.
•My remaining client work load wraps up in October or November.
•For next year, I will have approximately four regular gardening clients,
leaving time to devote to this city project.
•My hourly rate is $70.
Claims:
•I have not had any claims made against me.
