Dear Mayor Mayor Morrison, Deputy Mayor Fischer, and Commissioners,
I would like to offer suggestions in response to Mr. Fischer’s recent op-ed which basically
asked “what does Bozeman want and what are you willing to pay for?” Thank you for theopportunity to do so.
These are my desires and areas I’d be pleased to see my tax dollars (and increases?) go:
1. An update to the City’s lighting code and a reduction of light pollution;
2. Bike lanes with physical barriers between the lane and vehicles;3. Lower vehicle speed limits and more enforcement, including of smart phone violators;
4. A pool and library complex on the west side;5. More Streamline busses and routes;
6. Reduction of noise pollution, especially by vehicles (good luck on this one!);7. Protection of “wildlands” and riparian areas within the city limits. This includes less
pesticide/herbicide use.
I appreciate your efforts to make Bozeman a more livable and comfortable city.
Thank you and be well,
Michael G. Smith, Ph.D.1704 Hunters Way
