Please consider the increased traffic that will travel along McIlhattan Rd. from Story Mill Rd. to Bikefill and the
need for a biking / walking path.
Currently, there is no dedicated bike path or walking trail along McIlhattan Rd. from Story Mill Rd. to the new
Bikefill / Snowfil area. Walking and biking the area near the golf course toward Story Mill Rd. is dangerous.
Many bikers will want to ride their bikes to Bikefill and will need to run the gauntlet of cars parked along
McIlhattan Rd. near the golf course and the no-shoulder road between the golf course and Story Mill Rd. Bike riders
and walkers must walk in the road and hope the drivers have eyes on the road and are patient enough to give them
space.
On the good side, I do see a 10’ long path being built on the east side of the road near Bikefill but the length of this
path is inadequate for the expected needs.
Please consider extending the walking / biking path all the way to Story Mill Rd. Be proactive, study the situation
on golf tournament days, take a walk along the road on those days and think about how you can provide safe travel
for bike riders and walkers along McIlhattan Rd.
Thank you,
Melinda Thompson
