Greetings City of Bozeman Community Development:
Application #26278
Just a short comment concerning the new Bike Park currently being installed next to the dog
park on McIllhattan Road.
Although I understand this project also includes a trail extending West from Bridger CreekSubdivision, there is no sidewalks or trails East to Story Mill Road. This new park will attract
a large amount of people and traffic to the site, and McIllhattan is already congested withparking on the road at the golf course during events.
I noticed in City review comments that pedestrian connections would be adequate with the
addition of the proposed trail. I strongly disagree with that statement!! How can that be when a pedestrian must walk in the road in order to access the trail!!
I think a dangerous situation will develop with kids from The Legends subdivision to the East
riding to the new BikeFill park. Speeds coming down the hill from the transfer stationcombined with limited site distances at the bridge over Bridger Creek do not seem to be
addressed in this site plan review. I fear we will see another memorial to a fallen biker in thefuture unless truly adequate and safe access is provided to the new BikeFill park.
