Hello Douglas,
I write this glorious September afternoon to advise on a number of conditions in and around the neighborhood for which we could use our elected commissioner’s support and consideration.
To be brief:
1. One truck parked on the curb. 2. Some trash on the boulevard strip near a car parked on Tanzanite 3. Cars parked in the neighborhood and on Flanders Mill while the new Oak lot sits half empty.
As you write on today’s opinion pages in the BDC, the basics matter, obviously.
Before I can respond to your call about what the commission should ask voters to fund in 2027, we should take care of these basics.
After all, a parent (like myself) can spend only so many sunny afternoons documenting parking violations and quality of neighborhood life issues for the city commissioners.

Hello,
Two more instances of parking on the curb today. They have/will be reported through the correct channel in addition to this mail.
Have not seen any evidence of city enforcement on the parking; or reply from our elected representatives.
We would appreciate support of the city to promote the conditions which enhance driver/pedestrian safety and respect for personal/community property beyond the curb. -- <image0.jpeg><image1.jpeg>

Courtney, et al;
Some of those parking on Flanders Mill park over the curb. We have irrigation on our side and parking on the curb is against code.
I have reported to the city via the proper form several days in a row and the behavior continues.
I flagged a patrolman down today on Flanders mill and pointed out the GMC and asked him to address it. He said he would. When I ran by 10 min later there was no ticket on the windshield.
Is it really a citizen responsibility to nanny this issue continually or can the city deal with it so Flanders Mill private property is not damaged?

Hi All,
A quick update and request for your help with the Gallatin High School Residential Parking District.
We are seeing the highest level of neighborhood parking this early in the school year that we have experienced in past years. This morning, approximately 311 parking spaces remained unused across three designated parking areas around GHS, while vehicles are already extending onto Tanzanite, Auger, and farther into the neighborhood and park. Historically, neighborhood parking increases as theschool year progresses and more students begin driving, making these early numbers particularly concerning.
Parking Count:
Sports Park: 30 of 119 spaces occupied - 89 openNortheast lot: 24 of 116 spaces occupied - 92 openFlanders Mill: 38 of 165 spaces occupied - 127 openTotal: approximately 311 spaces unused
If you still support the Residential Parking District, please email City Public Comment and Assistant City Manager Cola Rowley requesting that Commission review be moved from December 1 to October 20. A December review leaves us little hope and opportunity for implementation this school year. Commissioner Jen Madgic and Deputy Mayor Doug Fischer are already familiar with the issue. TABreceived the full presentation in July and voted unanimously to recommend moving the district forward. Ben Bailey and I can work to keep the presentation to approximately 15 minutes combined if that helps accommodate the October 20 agenda.

On another note, a sincere thank you to Bozeman Police for the increased presence around the neighborhood and school! It has absolutely been noticed and appreciated!
Thank you again for staying involved. If you remain in support, even a short email would be very helpful!
Thanks so much, Courtney Johnson
p.s. Yesterday was the first time I had someone park on my lawn It was an e-bike, but still.
