Dear Commissioner,
I’m writing to encourage the City to prioritize an additional indoor swimming pool for Bozeman. Ourcommunity needs a facility with regulation lap-swimming and swim-meet capacity, while also providingspace where children and families can enjoy the water.
An indoor facility is particularly important so it can serve the community year-round. Our current limited
pool capacity restricts access not only for lap swimmers and competitive programs, but also for critically
important learn-to-swim and seasonal youth swimming programs.
Bozeman is a growing community, with increasing numbers of children, families, and older adults.
Swimming is one of the few activities that can support recreation, fitness, safety, and lifelong health
across virtually every age group.
This need exists today. I hope the City will make expanding our aquatic facilities a priority as Bozeman
plans for continued growth.
