Dear Bozeman City Commision,
My name is Lucyna Regulska-Lyons, and I have been a Bozeman resident since 2020 after
living in Gardiner, MT for nearly two decades. My family relocated to Bozeman primarily soour daughter could join the Barracuda Swim Team and pursue her passion for competitive
swimming.
She has now been swimming competitively for almost seven years, holds several state records, and has earned time cuts for Zones, Sectionals, and Futures in the breaststroke events. Her
goal is to compete at the NCAA Division I level.
However, throughout her years of training, local athletes have repeatedly faced severe facilityshortages. Due to frequent closures of our aging city pool, swimmers have been forced to
practice in small outdoor pools in freezing temperatures, travel to Helena for pool time, ormiss critical practices before major meets. Now a freshman at Gallatin High School, my
daughter is disappointed that her team cannot host a home swim meet because Bozeman lacksa standard 25-yard competitive pool.
With Bozeman growing rapidly, our community urgently needs a modern aquatic facility that
meets competitive standards. Relying on a single, aging pool is unsustainable for our localathletes and community members.
Thank you for your time and for considering this critical need for our community.
Sincerely,
Lucyna Regulska-Lyons
