Hi Cola,
I spoke with Ben Bailey yesterday, and he said you would be the best contact to request thatthe Gallatin High School Parking District Commission review be scheduled earlier than
December 1st.
We've been working on this for over two years, have petitions supporting the district from
approximately 85% of neighbors, and received a unanimous recommendation from theTransportation Advisory Board in July. Commissioner Jen Madgic and Deputy Mayor Doug
Fischer have also been involved and are familiar with the issue.
We are already experiencing some of the highest neighborhood parking we've seen this early
in the school year, and historically those numbers increase as the year progresses. There arecurrently more than 300 unused parking spaces in designated parking areas around GHS,
while student parking continues to spill into the surrounding neighborhood and parks.
A December Commission date leaves very little opportunity for the district to be approved and
implemented in time to make a meaningful difference this school year. Would it be possibleto move the Commission review to October 20?
Ben and I can work to keep the presentation very concise, 15 minutes combined, if that helpsaccommodate the agenda.

Parking has scheduled this item. Parking Manager Focken is out October 20 and there are
pending data collection efforts planned past that date.
