A court order is not a blank check READ IN APP A court may have the authority to involuntarily commit someone for mental health treatment. But that authority has limits. In a new training, DRM attorney, Mike Lahr walks you through the rights people have during commitment and treatment in Montana, including the right to dignity and privacy, participation in treatment planning, protections involving medication and restraint, the right to file grievances, and the right to meaningful discharge planning. If you, a family member, or someone you work with interacts with Montana’s mental health system, this is a training worth bookmarking.
