Hi
Questions:Trail Surface: If the existing trails are resurfaced with non-permeable materials like concrete
or asphalt will the city keep these routes plowe? Current gravel surface on trails allows formelt/moisture to be absorbed into the ground as foot/bike traffic creates a pathway.
Signage:
Waymarking signs are great. Although current park regulations prohibit motorized traffic ontrails there is already a problem with exceptionally young riders on electric scooters and
electric motorbikes travelling at high speed on the trails as well as riding on grass and usingdepressions for water detention as jumps. I thnk the signage should address this problem and
consider what kind of electric bike restrictions are in place.. I have seen where electric assistpedal bicyles are allowed but not any motorized vehicle that uses a throttle to increase speed
rather than pedal power.
Park Maintenance:Skill of park maintenance workers. I know there is a Forestry Dept and I"ve had interaction
with knowledgeable people there on boulevard trees, etc. However, the actuall crews doingthe mowing and trimming seem to be oblivious to the vegetation. Four years ago my
neighbors and I planted 4 Flame Willow trees along the creek between Catron and Catamount.(We had permission.) After several years of their being cut down with trimmers by the park
maintenance people, only one of the trees has managed to survive. I even have a picture ofone of the trees they mowed down that still had the with the Cashman tag on the trunk.
