Disclosure: I am a member of the Economic Vitality Board and the Better Bozeman Coalition,
but speaking only on behalf of myself as a Bozeman resident.
Dear City Commission,
I am writing in support of the comments submitted by the Bozeman Tree Coaltion in regardsto the draft UFMP. In particular, I support their recommendations to reorganize and streamline
the document, moving strong recommendations from the appendices to the main plan andsome of the supplemental background into the appendices. I am also supportive of involving
the City Forester (or Urban Ecologist, if hired) earlier in the development review process toimprove retention and preservation of mature trees and riparian areas during redevelopment.
Lastly, I appreciate the inclusion of a template Heritage Tree program, and hope that Bozeman
will move forward with the development of such a program.
