My name is Kelly Earle and I live on Hunters Way on the Green space in Harvest Creek. I have reviewed the new
proposed plans to extend the pathway and I find the new plans to be completely egregious. Who is this toaccommodate? More E bikes? I live on this space and I’m able to observe from my living room window Thefrequency in which this path is used and the new plans would not only be an eyesore but would also be a flagrantwaste of money. There is no need to create an e-bike semi highway on this quaint and beautiful area, one of the lastof which we have on the west side. I walk the path with my young children and my dogs every day and I see no need to extend the pathway. It is notover congested and those who frequent it have no problem with congestion or with riding their bikes at the speedwhich they desire. Furthermore the grass and greenspace provides a lovely area for children to run around and playcomfortably, which is also in short supply on the west side. In the time that I have lived at my house on Hunter’sway, there have been two deaths of bicyclist and pedestrian on Oak. If the city wants to make any adjustments, theyneed to focus on making oak and durston more viable and safe for bikes and pedestrians and focus on maintainingthe limited serenity of the quiet walkable spaces we have. This proposed plan does not serve anybody, nor does it to serve the residence on the west side. There will be noadded benefit to creating this large pathway. Those who wish to recreate and use the pathway for intercity travelalready can do so comfortably with the pathway as it exists today. Please do not waste city money for a plan that nobody who lives in the area wants. Focus on improvingpedestrian and biking access to the mountains and down town from the west side and making the trail safer so we allmay benefit from the trail system in our city.
