My house is located on/next to the linear park. It appears that the plan includes a provision to add a pavilion directly across from my bedroom window as well as my living room. It is very difficult to determine whether this is a pavilion as the infographic in the plan is not labeled. People at the pavilion would have a direct line of sight to my bedroom and bathroom which is obviously unacceptable. There are at least another half dozen homes who would be impacted by the placement of the pavilion. Moving the pavilion to a more appropriate location or removing it from the Planentirely (in relation to the Harvest Creek portion of the Plan) are necessary to ensure continued enjoyment of my home without a pavilion of people staring at me and my family. Additionally, it appears that there is a turf grass buffer next to the fence line. Such a buffer is necessary to ensure no weeds or invasive plants spread from public areas to my garden. My wife and I will be voting solely based on whether you vote or oppose the placement of the pavilion next to my bedroom window. One addition: “Principal 1” of the plan indicates one of the purposes is to provide bike connections to other parts of the city. I live directly on the path and work <1mi from the terminus and have biked towork daily in more bike-friendly towns. I would never want to bike to work using the path regardless of the updates proposed because the path only connects residential areas, unlike thepaths on the east side of town. As a reminder, numerous cyclists and pedestrians have been killed on Oak in the last few years. More east-west bike paths, separated from vehicle traffic, are necessary for improving bikeconnectivity on the west side of town. Additionally, planning safe bike crossings across Main Street (and lowering the speed limit accordingly as well as other traffic calming measures)would be necessary to improve travel. Focusing on places where bikes and cars can be fully separated for east-west routes would be a far better use of time and funding than the current plan. Please rethink the underlying premisesof the plan and make real progress to inclusive, safe bike transportation across town.
