COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 2820
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF
BOZEMAN, MONTANA, REQUESTING THAT THE STREET LIGHTS
LOCATED WITHIN SPECIAL IMPROVEMENT LIGHTING
DISTRICT
NO. 284 NOT BE CONVERTED TO HIGH
PRESSURE SODIUM
VAPOR LIGHT FIXTURES.
WHEREAS, on the 19th day of June, 1931 ,
after due and legal pro-
ceedings, the City Commission adopted Commission Resolution No. 214. creating
Special Improvement Lighting District No. 284; and
WHEREAS, said SILD No. 284 was created for the purpose of lighting
West Cleveland Street from the east I ine of South Eighth Avenue to the west
line of South Willson Avenue; and
WHEREAS, that portion of West Cleveland Street has substantial historic
significance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Commission of the City

of Bozeman that the existing mercury vapor street lighting fixtures in Special
Improvement Lighting District No. 284 located
along West Cleveland Street,
which has substantial historic significance, be retained and not converted to
high pressure sodium vapor lighting. The Commission and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Commission generally supports

the conversion of street I ighting fixtures for greater energy efficiency. It is

only in situations of great historic importance that the Commission deviates from
its general support of energy efficient street lighting.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Commission of the City of Bozeman
at a regula r meeting thereof held on the 19th day of November 1990.
