Dear Bozeman Commission, I am a homeowner in the Hunters Creek neighborhood and my home on Hunters Way backs up to the park between Oak and Annie. We are excited about the overall improvements for increasing pedestrian traffic andconnectivity. Especially in the north section of Cattail! One consideration we would like to raise is the possible installation of native grasses and mowing concerns. Our segment of park is a bustling area used by kids and family’s to play, picnic, run and gather. We have truly benefitted from the park being throughway to community on Hunters Way. It would be a shame to introduce tall grasses that are not maintained or mowed to ourarea’s green spaces. This would drastically impact how our community uses the park, and prevent our community from utilizing the space. It’s my hope that low maintenance turf and low growing fescue can be maintained in areaswith popular use. I’m all for reducing water and irrigation use! But please consider gathering more homeowner insights to inform how these green spaces are and will be usedby the community! As the linear plan develops I hope it will reflect how communities interact with their sections of park. Because after all parks are meant to be used! We have experienced the current benefits of the Linear Park in Harvest Creek. We wouldlike to see the continued community it fosters preserved, especially as we start a family in the neighborhood! Thank you. Sarah Evans
