Rouse Ave. Bozeman, MT 59715 Email: planningtech@bozeman.net Re: Cultural Resource Review Diamond 8 Baseball Complex Dear Planning Staff, A cultural resource file search was conducted by the Montana State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) for the Diamond 8 project (SHPO Project #20260127011) located in Section 4, Township 2 South, Range 5 East. SHPO identified one previously recorded site within the broader search area (Site 24GA1995, a historic residence) and noted several prior cultural resource inventories conducted in the section. However, SHPO’s correspondence concludes that, provided no structures over fifty years of age within the Project area are altered or disturbed, there will be no cultural or historic properties affected by the undertaking. There are no existing buildings currently on site. Based on SHPO’s review and findings, SHPO determined that a recommendation for a cultural resource inventory is unwarranted at this time. Accordingly, the project is not anticipated to impact cultural resources, assuming no inadvertent discovery of cultural materials during construction. According to our records there has been one previously recorded site within the designated search locale. In addition to the site there have been a few previously conducted cultural resource inventories done in the area. I’ve attached a list of the site and reports. If you would like any further information regarding the site or reports, you may contact me at the number listed below. It is SHPO’s position that any structure over fifty years of age is considered historic and is potentially eligible for listing on the National Register of Historic Places.
