To whom it may concern,
Streamline has started discussions about future transit service for the Diamond 8 project
between Baxter Lane and Oak Street.
The project is located within the Gallatin Valley Urban Transportation District (UTD) boundaries,
meaning it is within the planning area when making updates to the Transit Development Plan
(TDP) every three to five years.
There is currently a route along Oak Street to Laurel Parkway, we are in the process of updating
the 2021 TDP and the long-term service recommendations are to expand that route to the
south. There have been some very preliminary discussions about Baxter Lane as a potential
future east/west route, however I do not anticipate it will be included in the update to the TDP.
In some areas within the UTD boundaries micro-transit or on-demand service has been
recommended. In any case, the type and frequency of the service will depend a lot on how
dense and walkable (or transit friendly) the area is developed.
