Dear City Commission, Please accept my support of the proposed Cattail Creek Corridor and Anchor Route Park. My family lives in Harvest Creek subdivision and commutes by bike and Ebike seasonally when the bike lanes are not blocked by snow. We love commuting around town this way to avoid traffic and parking, however using bike lanes still brings us into close proximity with traffic. This separated shared use path would offer a safer and more enjoyable alternative to riding alongside drivers distracted by cell phones, not using turn signals and not checking the bike lane before turning. I have a few comments about the proposed plan- 1. Please do not exclude Ebikes from this shared use path, instead limit their speed. 2. Please consider intensive traffic calming measures at the crossings at Oak, Durston and Babcock to prevent cars from passing stopped vehicles, such as Median Refuge Islands, Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons, Raised crosswalks or Speed tables as allowed. 3. Please consider linking direct routes from this anchor spoke to Chief Joseph Middle School and Gallatin High for our children to safely bike to school. 4.It would be ideal to directly link to the shared use path on the South side of Huffine for easy commutes to campus and the south side of town with safe crossing at Huffine/Main. Thanks very much for working toward this first step in implementing the PRAT plan! Warm Regards, Kristen Connolly
