Dear City Commissioners, We are concerned with the height parameters of B-3 zoning and the zone edge proposal before the City Commission. Please, please reduce the max height decision you reached of 90 feet (WAY TOO HIGH!!!)to a more reasonable max height of 70 feet. Bozeman is a community of neighborhoods and allowing 90-ft structures in a neighborhood is just plain unfair and unkind. How are lower dwelling structures to survive such massive and high structures nearby? Also zone edge transitions need to be adjusted to more of a compromise such as that suggested by the Better Bozeman Coalition. Please pay attention to their request and follow their lead. They have the well-being of all Bozemanites in mind! Here are their suggestions: -Requiring a larger ROW transition for taller buildings--if a building can be up to 90 ft tall, the ROW should be at least 90 ft wide in order to count as a transition, otherwise they build a transition. -Requiring stepbacks for ALL tall buildings in B-3--not just at transitions--like the Downtown Bozeman Improvement Plan suggested. -Requiring transitions to R-A and R-B to stepback at max plate height, not max heights for those zones. Respectfully yours, Kiki and Bob Rydell
