Next Tuesday: Crip Camp and aConversation About CommunityPower What can a summer camp teach us about changing the world? READ IN APP Next Tuesday, Disability Rights Montana will host a screening of Crip Camp, the acclaimed documentary that tells the story of a group of disabled young people whose friendships and activism helped spark the modern disability rights movement. Get your free ticket here AUG 14 Their story is funny, moving, rebellious, slightly risqué, and deeply relevant today. It reminds us that lasting change often begins when people come together, build community, and refuse to accept the unacceptable. After the film, we’ll host a community conversation with the audience and a panel of advocacy all-stars from right here in Helena. The conversation will be about building community power here in Helena and what we’ve learned from similar conversations in more than 30 communities across Montana. We’ll explore how connection, leadership, and collective action will help us create communities where all people belong and thrive. Tuesday, August 18 7:00 PM The Myrna Loy Theater 15 N Ewing St, Helena, MT Whether you’re a longtime advocate, new to disability rights, or not currently interested in disability rights but are interested in a powerful story of social change, I hope you’ll join us.
