Thank you to the Bozeman City Commission for taking action via your letter to the Museum
of the Rockies Board of Trustees on the topic of completing the trail corridor along the formerrailroad that crosses near/onto the MOR campus.
As a city resident, MSU employee, MOR member, and parent living in a neighborhood south
of Kagy, I can tell you that our family would greatly benefit from a safer connection to theGallagator trail and MSU campus. Our family regularly uses the trail near Allison Park and
Morning Star school for short walks and bike rides, but we would love if this trail connectedsafely to the Gallagator. An intuitive corridor to connect MOR, the Bozeman Public Library,
Peet's Hill, Lindley Park, etc. would safely extend and streamline activities and recreationalopportunities for our family.
Additionally, I use S 7th Ave in my daily commute and am concerned about museum traffic
diversions to that road as part of the museum's planned expansion (as presented in the MORMaster Plan by the former MOR Executive Director at our neighborhood association meeting
this past May). I know there is a plan for crossing tunnels under Kagy, but that does notaddress safety for bicyclists on S 7th if there is a plan for increased traffic to the museum on
that road.
Please continue to advocate for a collaborative solution with MOR and GVLT on ourbehalf, and let me know if there are upcoming opportunities for community engagement on
this topic.
Thank you,Sara Guenther
