I find that the speed limit limits year-round through the school zones make it worse and people speed year-round
through these areas And all out of state staters don’t know its year round. If you really want to protect children and
protect these people getting hit, I suggest you overhaul the school zones.
In Scottsdale, Az they put out street warning signs in the middle of the street and flashing lights for 15 miles an
hour during school hours only. Then they have photo radar and no one speeds through the school zones.
With the current status of the school zones, you are creating a hazard. You are liable for the confusion and year-
round rules in this area. The next time a kid gets hit on your city streets you are going to get sued from the neglect of
effective school zones.I recommend you look at the city of Scottsdale to see what they do with their school zones
and adapt the same program. It’s much more effective than this one in Bozeman, Montana.
Thank you,
Mary Cloepfil
