It sure sounds like the Bozeman Police are taking action to not only prevent civic
incidents but to actively assist ICE. A strong suggestion for you folks, since you have
publicly stated that Bozeman is not an active participant in ICE actions:
How about encouraging officers to record names of ICE enforcers and detainees, along
with any pertinent identifying information. Simply a matter of good police reporting, and
perhaps obtaining data that could save families of hard working folks from the agonies of
not knowing when or where their loved ones have disappeared !
A Police Officer Requesting from a detainee a voluntary statement of name, country and
town of origin (or who to contact for them) is a service to our whole community, and will
help alleviate fear of unknown disappearance and gain respect for our Police Force.
Please consider suggesting a proactive approach from our local officers.
