Hi,
As I'm sure you are aware, ICE is currently in town and has been wrongfully detaining people
as well as doing extended searches in Gallatin Gateway. I'm also noticing that they arereceiving support from the Bozeman PD, however, when I called about a wrongful detainment
I was told that Bozeman PD didn't have any affiliation with ICE and ICE doesn't have theauthority to do any traffic stops without warrants for anyone they are specifically looking for.
They are also removing people from the county and taking them into a detention center inGreat Falls, isn't this bypassing due process? And if so, shouldn't it be prevented and not
supported? The detained are also making phone calls from Officer's Cell Phones and not aDetention line or any federal building, are they not suppossed to be making the calls from
designated detention centers? Or the information on where they are being taken be known tosomeone?
Mostly I want some clarification on the matter and if you were unaware of it, it might be
worth looking into.
