Hello,
It is my position that my local government officials and law enforcement should not be participating in nor
interfering with ICE activities.
The role of our local PD and local government is to serve this community, and a community in which any person
fears calling emergency services to report a crime or other dangerous situation makes the community less safe for
everyone. Like it or not, undocumented immigrants are the backbone of Bozeman’s labor. They pay taxes. They are
part of our community.
Bozeman Police Department should have no business escorting ICE vehicles nor patrolling/guarding their hotels as
they have been publicly observed doing. The Federal Government and DHS have enough tax revenue to
appropriately outfit, “guard”, and train their own employees. I object to our limited local and state tax dollars being
appropriated in this manner.
Respectfully, BPD should stop fucking around with ICE and get back to work.
