To the Bozeman Charter Study Commission:
As you are finalizing your work on the charter I urge you to do the following :
Give the power to set compensation to city commissioners to an independent, city resident only board composed of
no city employees or people who have financial connections with the city. Do not write in a set standard for
compensation based on AMI.
Also use an independent board to set ward boundaries. The commission should not have the power to set how they
will be elected. That is a clear conflict of interest.
Thank you for your work. Please consider what the voters want in these instances.
