We Hope to See You in Butte for the Montana Folk Festival Next Weekend!
The Montana Folk Festival, July 10–12 in Uptown Butte, is one of our state’s
premier cultural events. It’s a chance to experience music from across the globe while
also celebrating the art that defines our own cultures and communities. This year, the
Montana Arts Council is partnering with Humanities Montana to host the Montana
Folklife and Family Area on Saturday and Sunday at the festival. Featuring 13 artists
and a lineup of performers, this area is THE place to experience traditional artforms

like beading, bootmaking, weaving, ledger art, blacksmithing, and cowboy poetry (to
name a few). For families, artists and organizations will host hands-on activities like
traditional tribal games, fly-tying, and facepainting. Special bonus: Montana Arts
Council staff will be leading a printmaking activity featuring a block made by Butte’s
own Christine Martin!
