Dear City Council Members and Planning Office Staff, I am writing to request the installation of a pedestrian crosswalk on Fallon Street between Resort Drive and Cottonwood Road, near the new Town & Country Market and surroundingbusinesses. This area has experienced substantial growth in recent years. Across Fallon Street from the grocery store are more than 500 apartment units, in addition to numerous residential homes. Many residents regularly walk to the grocery store, restaurants, and other businesses in the Market development, yet there are limited safe opportunities to cross this busy roadway. Recent development near the Ridge Athletic Center has included new pedestrian crosswalksand safety improvements, which are greatly appreciated. However, there remains a significant gap in pedestrian access near Town & Country Market and the nearby shops, where foottraffic continues to increase as the area grows. Pedestrian safety is a serious concern. With the number of pedestrian-vehicle accidents that have occurred in recent years, it is important that the City continue to invest in infrastructurethat protects residents and encourages safe travel. A marked crosswalk on Fallon Street between Resort Drive and Cottonwood Road would provide a safer and more accessibleconnection for hundreds of residents who rely on walking to access essential services and businesses. I respectfully ask that the City Council and Planning Office evaluate this location and considerprioritizing the installation of a pedestrian crosswalk as part of ongoing transportation and safety improvements. Thank you for your time, consideration, and commitment to making our community safer forpedestrians. I look forward to hearing about any next steps regarding this request. Sincerely, Gavin McAuliff
