Greetings Honorable Commissioners.
Please take a deep pause and offer a detailed public discussion on the idea of Opportunity
Zones in our community.
To quote Scott Boyd in our community forum Next Door:
"Bozeman should use every available tool to build more housing. The Idaho Pole Superfundsite, for example, represents a genuine case where Opportunity Zone equity might changethe math on a site with real barriers to investment. That is precisely what the program wasdesigned for. But approving two sweeping designations, covering enormous swaths of thecity, on the consent agenda, without public input and without a single binding affordabilityrequirement, is not a housing strategy. It is an unguarded subsidy directed at one of thehottest real estate markets in Montana."
