Hi Rebecca,
I got 15 survey flyers placed around town at the two Co-ops, Joe’s Parkway, the
Emerson and a bunch of coffee houses, so hopefully some folks will scan it in. Thanks
for bringing those to us the other night at the HPAB meeting.
Question: Did Lakota put this document together, or did someone else do it? I admit
that I was disappointed with the complexity of it when I went through it, as it was quite
technical. If we want our citizenry to feel engaged, we need to consider coming up with a
much “friendlier” format. I hate to say it, but the feedback I’ve heard has not been great
re the survey, so far. I know much work must have gone into it and we appreciate that,
but we really should be thoughtful of who our audience is and their knowledge before the
release of such a written piece. This was written literally on a College Masters level for
some questions and that has delivered a challenge to the very people we would like to
engage with.
Did anyone else review it before it went out? It might have been a good idea to have
considered having Takami Clark or Emily Kiely give it a once-over before its release and
hopefully this can be done with any future projects. We all want to help set each other
for success and here is a suggestion to help pull that off. Thanks for consideration for
the future and happy to talk more anytime. We’re all rowing together!
