To the Bozeman Study Commission:
It hasn't been that long ago that Bozeman had issues with prior city managers. The city
manager is arguably the most influential unelected official in Bozeman. After further review,Study Commissioner Campbell's motions to edit the wording of the city manager's role
(https://weblink.bozeman.net/WebLink/DocView.aspx?id=316890&dbid=0&repo=BOZEMAN) would have solved many of the issues and concerns
that residents have expressed in the first public hearing, subsequent public comments, andsurvey responses. We encourage the rest of the Study Commission to revisit her suggestions.
Also, please note that we do not have any affiliation or relationship with Study Commissioner
Campbell, contrary to what Commissioner Strout accused at a recent meeting. In practice, iftwo people or two organizations identify a problem and recognize a similar solution, perhaps
that is because the problem is real and the solution is obvious, not because there is somecoordinated effort behind it.
