Brey - Full time INC liaisonFrom:Ron Brey To:Bozeman Goverment Study Commission Subject:[EXTERNAL]Full time INC liaison Date:Monday, June 8, 2026 9:24:47 PM CAUTION: This email originated from outside of the organization. Again, thanks you for all the careful consideration you gave to Bozeman’s future governmental needs. I have read the draft and only have two observations. 1. The city has recently embarked on biennial budgeting and the draft calls for an annual process. I’m not sure if this is intended to revise current practice but it caught my eye. 2. For me, this is more significant. The following draft language appears to call for a full time neighborhood coordinator which I enthusiastically endorse. If that is the intention, thislanguage is insufficient. It would accommodate a full time planner, for example, who provides scant support for the Neighborhood Program especially during busy times in the planningoffice. Adding the term “fully dedicated “ after “staff member” is a necessary revision to provide for a full time INC liaison. I believe having such a dedicated staff person is acornerstone to creating a strong program which is a major component to the improved citizen engagement the Commission and the public have been seeking. Thank you again for your important service. “The City shall designate a full-time staff member to serve as a liaison to the Inter-Neighborhood Council and neighborhood associations. The staff liaison shall support coordination, leadership development, training, communication, and assist in facilitating participatory planning, budgeting, and policy engagement processes. “ Ron Brey Bozeman Sent from my iPhone
