As a resident of Bozeman living above Main Street, it is difficult to find practical and reliable parking. Every day I park
two blocks from my home to avoid a ticket from parking in 2-hour zones. Last month, I left town for a week-long
vacation and parked my car two blocks from my apt.. When I returned, I had received a courtesy notice reminding
me that I must move my car every 72 hours. I am at a loss as to what to do. As a longtime resident of Bozeman, I
find that living downtown is pleasant and simple in most ways. In the past few years, it has obviously become more
crowded and new issues have come up like trouble finding parking. This most recent incident made me think that I
cannot be the only person living downtown without a driveway who likes to take a vacation once or twice a year. I
know that there is no quick solution to this problem, but I hope that the city will prioritize systems and locations for
people like me to be able to legally park close to home in the future.
