Hello Bozeman City,
I was out of town on the 18th and was unable to attend the Public Engagement Meeting but I
feel so strongly about the subject that I wanted to send me comments in.
I feel that it is vital for the city to have a plan to keep as many as we possibly can of older,heritage trees. These trees provide vital habitat for raptors, especially merlins, sharp-shin
hawks, cooper hawks and many, many passerines that migrate here for the spring, summer andfall. In addition these old established trees provide shade especially important with our hotter
and hotter summers, absorb carbon dioxide to help combat global warming, and set thecharacter for our beautiful town (think of what our smart city forebearers did when they
planted the trees on Willson Ave.)
