VUNA membership is formed through city assistance (mailers to every address for the annual VUNA meetings), emails, flyers, social media postings, activities, and other outreach methods. The VUNA and the Inter Neighborhood Council serve as the only official and collective channels for our community to provide essential feedback on local issues including issues that directly affect the VUNA and broader city-wide issues. We commend the Government Study Commission for its comprehensive study of neighborhood engagement models in other communities. Retaining the language as you currently have it in Article VIII draft is critical as it formalizes the need for these bodies to effectively bring our neighborhood concerns and insights to the city government. We agree with the principles articulated in Article VIII draft and urge you to retain this foundational language in your proposed City Charter. Respectfully Submitted, Patrick Moore Zehra Osman 409 Mineral Ave 312 Sanders Ave Christopher Matzke Alexandra Lewis-Lorentz 406 Sheridan Ave 325 Sanders Ave
