We are writing to urge you to keep Article VII. Wesimply can’t imagine Bozeman's city government operating without functioning neighborhood councils and the INC. They allow room for debate at the neighborhoodlevel and for these councils to give input to the City. You are being urged from some quarters to trust city commissions—now and into the future. Why would anyone trustany city commission that doesn’t value input from neighborhoods? Eliminating these committees is a bad idea; it is anti-democratic and smacks of creepingauthoritarianism. Put a stop to it now. We are also writing in opposition to the idea that any group (renters, condo owners, developers, people under 30, people over 65, or people who have lived in thiscommunity for more than 30 years) be guaranteed seats on the INC. Why single out one group for guaranteed representation and exclude others? Thank you again for your work on this important set of issues. Sincerely, Bob and Kiki Rydell 622 South Grand Ave. Bozeman
