4. Qualifications, Experience & Availability
Overview
The background and description for this project states that, “the COB values beautification of
city owned property and street median landscapes.” With the division of Clean Slate Group
(CSG) that would be overseeing this project being aptly named Urban Beautification, this is right
in our wheelhouse! CSG, and specifically Urban Beautification (UB), prides itself on its motto of
“We do what doesn’t get noticed until it’s not done or not done well,” and we would be proud to
add Bozeman’s street median landscapes and various city owned properties to that list.
Doing our job the right way the first time around and making sure our client’s expectations are
continually exceeded is always the goal. CSG has been growing its expertise in the lawn
maintenance space here in Bozeman for the last four years. CSG has provided lawn &
landscaping services to multiple property management companies and the COB in the Gallatin
Valley since spring of 2022. CSG has organically grown through word-of-mouth
recommendations for the quality of work CSG prides itself on. Over the last several years, CSG
has become a one-stop-shop for many landscape maintenance needs property managers have.
The scope of services for this medians and grounds maintenance contract excites CSG and its
knowledgeable, experienced staff team. From management on down to the newest hire, our team
rubs shoulders with each other at almost every job site so that experience can be shared and
passed on. While CSG is experienced and certified, we are always learning and adapting to the
needs of our clients. Areas of expertise for CSG include but are not limited to mowing,
trimming, property cleanup services, landscaping and clearing of overgrown vegetation.
Safety
CSG has completed dozens, if not hundreds, of graffiti removals in and around the very grounds
and medians involved in this contract. CSG exceeds required safety measures and has extensive
safety experience in working around high traffic flow areas to effectively and safely complete the
work laid out in the scope of services. CSG takes measures such as wearing high-visibility vests,
strobe lights on vehicles and trailers, as well as other safety precautions that would allow us to
execute this contract while exceeding safety requirements and expectations.
Response Time
CSG has a reputation for excellent communication and quick response times across all of its
contracts. With our graffiti removal contract, our response time to obscene, highly visual tags is
often less than 4 hours after notice from the City. With mowing and landscaping, we have been
able to do one-off mowing or weed-eating jobs on less than ½ a days notice. CSG runs a lean,
skilled and certified and adaptable crew that always wants to put our customers’ top priorities as
our own. If anything is able to be moved to meet a higher priority needs, it is. Our crew is cross
trained, so we are able to schedule staff where they are needed most and can also move as needs
change or new projects are requested.
8
Certifications
CSG has the following certifications applicable to this contract:
● National Pesticide Applicator Core Certification
○ Pesticide Category Classifications:
■ Ornamental & Turf Pest Control
■ Right-of-Way
Differentiation- Photo Documentation
CSG is excited to go outside the boundaries of what is normally expected from lawn care
professionals. If it would prove helpful to the Streets Department, we are more than capable of
capturing before and after photos of properties and displaying them on an easily accessible
platform so that there is always accountability for the quality and timeliness of work being
completed. We already complete this documentation for our graffiti removal and sidewalk snow
removal contracts and would be more than happy to implement the same documentation for this
contract if it would be a value add to the City.
Staffing & Equipment Levels
CSG has a team of 7-10 experienced individuals that is partly made up of seasonal/part-time
employees for the summer of 2026. The culture of CSG continues to attract and develop highly
qualified and talented individuals. CSG is capable and excited to grow in both equipment and
staffing if the needs of our clients require it, all while keeping safety and quality as our top
priorities. When our clients ask, we go above and beyond to deliver!

Recent Work for the City of Bozeman
CSG is proud to have a long history of partnering with the City in a variety of site services,
including weed eating/trimming, weeding park playground areas, snow/ice removal, dog waste
station maintenance, gopher abatement, and graffiti removal/prevention since November of 2011.
Since May of 2022, CSG has been contracted by the City to assist in the preparation of Sunset
Hills Cemetery for Memorial Day by weed eating/trimming all of the cemetery’s headstones. The
Parks Department has also utilized CSG for one-off weeding projects in playground areas such
10
as Jarrett Park, New Hyalite View Park, and Ferguson Meadows Park during the previous four
summers. CSG has been a preferred snow removal vendor for the City of Bozeman Parks &
Trails District since the 2020-2021 snow season and every snow season thereafter. CSG has also
held the contract overseeing the snow removal of all four downtown surface lots since the
2023-2024 snow season. CSG has been the contractor for the last two snow seasons (since Nov

of the On-Call Residential Snow Plowing Services contract for the ‘25-’26 snow season for the
City of Bozeman Streets Division. CSG is eager to continue growing its long-standing
relationship with the City and exceed any and all expectations the City has for meeting the needs
