Hi Sam Worthington and City Commissioners,
This is Terry Quatraro, and I am inviting you to do an article/ photo for a presentation torecognize the efforts of 4th and 5th graders in the Gallatin Valley that participated in a postercontest.
Here are the facts:
The 4th and 5th graders in Gallatin county were asked to submit a poster that would encouragecustomers to bring a reusable bag to the store when shopping. The idea is to reduce the use ofsingle use plastic bags. Most often forgetting to bring your own reusable bag to the store isthe complaint given for not being able to resist using single use plastic bags.
98 posters were submitted from the following schools:
Whittier Irving MonfortonHawthorne Manhattan
There were 6 posters selected instead of 5( see photo of poster guidelines) because we had atie vote for the final choices( see photo of the 6 posters)
The poster selected was created by Rose Anderson and Larissa McGillivray both from Monforton school in Katelyn Moratelli 's
4th grade class. Please see attached flyer for prizes that will be awarded.
The city of Bozeman Sustainability Board selected the chosen poster and the city has agreed toput the poster on their website and make copies available to retail stores in Bozeman.
Please contact me for any other questions.
I await your reply to let me know if you will be able to send a photographer to:
Gallatin County Fairgrounds Earth Day Event April 25th
10am in building 4 just before the scheduled Magic Show.
Thank youTerry Quatraro 406 580 3681
