I am submitting this comment to share my serious concerns regarding the Fowler HousingDevelopment planned between Oak and Annie Streets. Having lived near this site for several
years, I was disturbed to learn that the city is considering buildings up to five stories in heighton such a narrow strip of land. This proposal directly borders the backyards of my neighbors
in Harvest Creek without an adequate roadway buffer. The resulting noise, light pollution, andloss of privacy will significantly damage our neighborhood character and could lead to a
substantial drop in our property values.
I am particularly worried about how 168 additional vehicles will navigate our residentialstreets like Farmall and Caterpillar, which were never designed for this kind of volume. My
family and I use these roads daily, and the increased congestion will make biking and walkingmuch more dangerous. Additionally, the city’s 2017 commitment to preserve the existing
trees, irrigation ditch, and open spaces seems to be forgotten in this high-density plan. Beforeany zoning actions move forward, I formally request a full environmental and traffic impact
study. We need a development that reflects the consensus-based process promised to our HOAin January. A lower-density model, similar to Bridger View, would be far more appropriate for
this sensitive location than the currently proposed high-rise units that most Bozeman residentscannot even afford. Please do not rush this timeline without meaningful community input and
a plan that protects our existing green space and wildlife corridors.
