With our local economy generating a huge income from Big Skies and wildlife it’s time for Bozeman to put protections in place to secure dark skies for future generations. Over 300 municipalities have a dark sky ordinance in place so when we look up at the stars and Milky Way , we can actually see them . Let’s give migrating birds and other wildlife a chance to navigate the skies without the confusion of so much artificial light - their lives depend on it . I live in Gallatin Gateway and the white artificial light of Bozeman looks like a Q tip from here . Population growth can be managed in little ways to preserve the beauty of our mountain town, a dark skies provision is one of those . Please be proactive for the preservation of what makes us stand out - we are Big Sky Country after all .
