I left Santa Monica many years ago to escape the communistic government that runs the city from the top down.
And down it has gone.
In the early 80’s we started calling Santa Monica - Soviet Monica. Since then it’s become a dangerous city riddled
with crime and homelessness. The parking is limited and expensive, the parks are filled with homeless and forget
having a small business anywhere, it’s all been gentrified.
Forget raising family there. Job opportunities are not for the locals. The only people that can afford to be there are
the rich and famous, those who bought in the 80’s or earlier and those who know how to milk the system. The ones
that have come to replace the middle class. How these people can afford to live there… well, let’s just say that the
system is working for them, not for the struggling tax paying citizens.
“Renters rights” is one of Santa Monica policies built by the Communist party that controls the city.This is a policy
set in place to cater to the masses. Santa Monica obviously has more renters than home owners, my guess that
started in the early 80’s. They figured they’d get more votes advocating for the renters.
How about the continued homeless issue. Heck, do you know any other place that served 28 meals a week? Snd that
was back in the early 2000’s.You know the saying… you build it and they will come.
How about crime… criminals get a slap on the wrist. As for informing people about the dangers… that doesn’t
happen because the revenue that tourism brings in is more important to the commies that run the city
Single-family homes are disappearing and multi unit complexes are everywhere. They get introduced as “low
income units” - yeah right! Nothing cheap about any unit unless you qualify for section 8.
We can not allow Bozeman to continue down this path. It is all too familiar to me as this type of Govt has destroyed
Santa Monica and California - for that matter.
