We support 110 servers •Citywide Network •Switches, Routers, Firewalls, Wireless, Internet connections, Fiber. Allows all departments to talk to each other. Around 642 Network devices •Disaster Recovery •Cyber Security •Antivirus •Anti-Malware •Intrusion detection and prevention •Multi Factor Authentication •Communications •Email, Desk Phones, Cell phones-334 9 Help Desk Support Provided: •All PC, Laptops, Tablets, Printers •Around 1000 devices supported •Operating System and other software support •Trainings to help users become efficient in the use of various applications •Support Audio Visual systems across the city such as the one in this room •Addressed over 2000 tickets in 2025 10 Public Service Announcements Phishing Attempts on the Rise •Email and Text messages going out claiming to be from the city •We are reaching out about project X…You owe money and must wire the funds now •They are using city logos and employee names along with publicly available project info •Happening nationwide at the moment. We are doing what we can to mitigate-Banner, emails, social media posts, news item on website, redactions on public documents •The City will not email or text you demanding that you wire money. •Watch out for Sense of Urgency •Look carefully to see if it is truly coming from the City •You can always call the City directly if you have any question or concern if something you receive is legitimate. 406-582-2300 •More detailed info is available at FBI Link https://www.ic3.gov/PSA/2026/PSA260309 11 Public Service Announcements Email address and Website Domain Changes •What are we doing? •Our City email addresses have changed from firstinitiallastname@bozeman.net to firstname.lastname@bozemanmt.gov so smcmahan@bozeman.net becomes scott.mcmahan@bozemanmt.gov •The same holds for generic emails you may be using like comments@bozeman.net which will now be comments@bozemanmt.gov •Our City website domain will be changing from www.bozeman.net to www.bozemanmt.gov on April 27th, 2026. 12 Public Service Announcements Email address and Website Domain Changes •Why are we doing this? •Federal Government encourages adoption of .gov domains to enhance security, establish trust, and ensure authenticity and they are increasingly required to access federal cybersecurity grants and support •.gov domains are restricted and you must be verified as a US based government entity to get one. •Reduce the risks of Phishing and impersonation •Reduce citizen confusion and concern about whether our website is a real government site or not. •Reduce citizen concerns about whether emails the City sends are coming from a private entity or an actual government organization •Most of our peer cities/counties are also doing this and seem to be following a similar format as well. gallatinmt.gov, belgrademt.gov, billingsmt.gov 13 Public Service Announcements Email address and Website Domain Changes •What citizens need to know as these changes go into effect. •The old City of Bozeman emails will continue to work for at least one year and the City will still receive your emails if sent to the old address during that time. I strongly encourage citizens to change any city emails you have been using to the new format as soon as possible. •The navigation on the City website is not changing. •If you have pages on the current City website bookmarked, those bookmarks should still work when the domain name changes for at least a year. In the event that they don’t work, navigate to the new URL at www.bozemanmt.gov and go to the page you had previously bookmarked and update your bookmark. 14 Public Service Announcements •Thank you for your patience as we make these important changes.
