I am writing regarding the proposed Fowler Housing Development between Oak and AnnieStreets. Living at 715 Hunters Way for more than two decades, I have seen Bozeman change,
but this is beyond the pale.
To suggest 84 units and five-story buildings just thirty feet from our backyards is completely
unacceptable. I value the quiet and the wildlife that frequent our green spaces, and thisdevelopment would destroy both while bringing years of disruptive construction noise and
dust. The traffic plan is particularly alarming, as funneling nearly 170 cars through residentialstreets like Farmall and Caterpillar—which were never designed for this volume—creates a
massive safety risk for our neighbors. Haven 't we seen enough pedestrians being involved in accidents?
Furthermore, these units are not the affordable housing Bozeman needs; they are expensivehigh-density blocks that will likely lower our property values and increase the tax burden on
us to support new infrastructure. The city committed to preserving our open spaces andirrigation ditch back in 2017, and this proposal flies in the face of that promise. I urge the
Commission to honor the consensus-based engagement process promised to our HOA andlimit this project to a much lower density that reflects the Bridger View model. We deserve a
development that respects the community feel we have worked so hard to maintain.
Please limit these kinds of developments to downtown, infill areas and not the kinds of settled
and beloved neighborhoods like Harvest Creek.
