Having lived near this parcel at 124 E. Tamarack for more than two decades, I am invested in the long-term livability of this area. While I understand the need for housing, the plan to put eighty-four units in buildings reaching five stories high on such a narrow strip of land is completely out of scale. This proposal would place high-density structures and parking just feet from the backyards of eighteen existing homeowners without any of the roadway buffers typically required in Bozeman for such transitions. The logistical issues here are glaring. The plan funnels traffic from over 160 cars onto residential streets like Farmall and Caterpillar that were never designed for this volume, all while providing no direct access from Fowler Avenue itself. With inadequate parking ratios, we will inevitably see overflow parking cluttering our neighborhood streets, creating major pedestrian and cyclist safety risks. Additionally, these units are priced far beyond what most would consider affordable, failing to meet the very goals the city claims to pursue. This project threatens to bring years of disruptive construction noise and dust only to leave us with a development that ruins our neighborhood character and sense of community. I urge the city to honor the consensus-based process promised to our neighbors and revise this plan to a lower density that aligns with the Bridger View model. Patrick Bauerle
