Subject: Public Comment on Fowler Avenue Housing Development
I am writing to the City Commission regarding the Fowler Housing Development proposedbetween Oak and Annie Streets. As a homeowner who has cherished this neighborhood for
more than ten years, I am heartbroken by a plan that crams four and five-story buildings onto anarrow strip of land right against our backyards. This proposal lacks the roadway buffers
found in every other high-density transition in Bozeman, and I am incredibly concerned aboutthe noise, light pollution, and the estimated hundred-thousand-dollar loss in property value for
my neighbors. Loading 168 cars onto residential streets like Farmall and Caterpillar, whichwere never designed for this volume, is a recipe for congestion and pedestrian safety risks.
Furthermore, these units are priced far beyond what most would call affordable. The citypreviously committed to preserving our open spaces and trees, and this plan feels like a rushed
departure from that promise. We were told there would be a consensus-based engagementprocess starting in 2026, yet these zoning actions seem to be moving forward anyway,
undermining our trust. I ask that you slow this process down and stick to a lower densitymodel, like Bridger View, that actually fits the character of Harvest Creek. Please do not force
the financial and infrastructure burden of this massive development onto the taxpayers whohave built this community.
